Growing up in Otwell, I was fortunate to know the Anderson family. Ruth Ann, Kenny, and Mary Jane were a part of my childhood memories through their cousin, Donna Sue—always a fun time. Rest In Peace, Ruth Ann. Your smile was always contagious!

So sorry to hear of Ruthie passing on. I met her at Tripler where she was a secretary in the same department I worked. She and Ben became good friends of ours while we lived in Aiea. She loved her children and family very much. I will miss her smile and happy personality. May you be in peace Ruthie.

Sending much love and condolences to my Dear Cousins Brenda, Brian, and Brad during this difficult time. I, like so many others, have such wonderful memories of Ruthie to hold on to and cherish...she was one of the kindest and happiest people I had the privilege of knowing. I know that she will live on in all of our hearts always and will be sitting right beside any of us who sit down at the Pinochle table or to watch the IU Hoosiers take the court! Love to you all, Rachel

In the last 10 years, I have been able to spend much more time with my sister-in-law Ruthie, when she ventured from the cold weather to Florida. She was such a dear, happy, generous, fun person and an all-around good sport. We had a wonderful week just three years ago driving down the western sea coast with her. My love and prayers to all her family. Gail

Ruthie was my kind, fun loving, and easy going, big sister. She loved her sports teams starting with the Brooklyn Dodgers which was her "first" love due to their first baseman, Gil Hodges, who went to school with our parents. I fondly remember "watching" the dodgers play while laying around on our living room floor looking at the radio and listening to most of their games along side Ruthie with her pencil and scorecard keeping track of the team statistics. She never forgave the Dodgers for leaving Brooklyn but eventually got over it and went on to become fiercely loyal to other sports teams including the Indiana Hoosiers and most recently her Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. Ruthie was a kind, loving and gentle soul, rarely speaking ill of anyone and had a wonderful positive, upbeat outlook throughout her life. We love her and will miss her very much.

I am so sorry to hear of Ruth Ann's death. I am sad for her family, especially her sister, Mary Jane & her brother, Kenny. Being their 2nd cousin, I haven't seen Ruth Ann since I was a child but I would seen her pictures on Mary Jane's facebook and felt closer to the family. I remember her parents Olive & Charles coming in town to visit my dad Russ Ragle & loved seeing them. Sincere condolences to all the family from the Ragle sisters, Dottie, Sara & me.

She was such a wonderful lady, I sure am going to miss her smile. I don't ever believe she was ever upset or angry when she was around us. I know she is playing a good game of cards with Grandpa and dad right now.

I was at the grocery store when Gail called me to let me know Ruthie had passed on. Even though I knew it could happen at any time, it was hard to hear the news. Ruthie was a loving person who never said a bad or mean thing about anybody in her life and like Mother, regardless of what setbacks happened, never let it outwardly affect her and her kindness to others, never complained, and seemed to enjoy her children, grandchildren, siblings, and life in general. I will always remember with fondness our early years in Southern Indiana, growing up together, sometime squabbling and looking out for that Willow switch in Grandma Kearby's hand, but mostly having fun playing lots of board games, listening to the Dodgers while lying around on the living room floor and hoping Gil Hodges would hit a home run, playing basketball and baseball in the back yard and not being able to beat her at either game until I was almost out of high school, looking back and knowing that she could have been a good college basketball, baseball, or softball player if only they had those sports available for girls back then! One of my proudest moments was having her travel a long way home so that she could see me play basketball in the sectional at Huntingburg my Senior year. Even though we didn't win, I played a good final game almost beating the favorite team that year and I knew that I owed a lot of what success I had playing high school basketball and baseball and my competitiveness to Ruthie because she would never let me win in our childhood head to head competition until I got good enough to actually win on my own! We love her and will miss her greatly but Gail and I were comforted in knowing you provided her with a lot of tender loving care and that she was surrounded by her family at the end. Love you, Ken
