Obituary of Ivah Lavelle Gratias

Ivah (Ivy) LaVelle Gratias (Wright), 86, passed away on March 30, 2017, in Port Orchard, Washington. Ivy was born to Chester Ivan Wright and LaVelle Catherine Hargan on January 31, 1931, in Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gratias, and is survived by her sister Barbara Thompson of Auburn, her brother Chester Wright of Enumclaw, two daughters, Gail Kiele of Port Orchard and Tressa Gratias of Federal Way and one son Greg Gratias, of Auburn. She has five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Ivy grew up in Kent where she graduated from Kent Meridian High School in 1949 and married Len in 1952. They lived in Eatonville, Lake Tapps, Puyallup and Auburn, where Len passed away in 1979. Ivy then moved to Federal Way where she and Tressa operated an adult family home called “Aged Care” for over 20 years. Ivy enjoyed traveling, gardening and her grandchildren and was always willing to help where needed. A graveside service will be held on April 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Burial Park, Kent, Washington. The service will be followed by food and fellowship at the Fireside Room at Auburn Adventist Academy Church.
