Obituary of Judith M Greene

Judith "Judy" M. Greene "Nonnie" In Memoriam On Saturday, April 30th, 2016, Judy peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family. After a brave ten day fight in the ICU, Judy succumbed to interstitial lung disease and additional pulmonary complications. Born February 4th, 1938, in Bryn Mawr, PA. Judy's childhood was spent growing up in the Valley Forge area outside Philadelphia where she developed her lifelong passion for golf. In June 1958, Judy met her husband, Gordon Greene, whom she married on June 18, 1960. Judy and Gordon had two children Chuck and Charlotte, who were initially raised in York, PA, and then Pittsburgh, PA, before moving to Federal Way, in 1977. Judy was a member of Twin Lakes Country Club, and loved playing golf with her family and friends. It brought her great joy to watch her grandsons play golf. Gordon's sudden death in 1987 was very difficult for Judy. After 17 years Judy met through mutual friends, Mike Canorro, a widower who brought light into her life. They married in 2007, and they enjoyed their retirement years traveling the world. They took many cruises, trips to Europe, and annually visited their favorite destination, Kauai. Judy lived her life to the fullest. She brought laughter and joy to those around her, including those she worked with, in particular during the 11 years she spent as the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at St. Joseph's Hospital. Judy found spiritual fulfillment in her work at hospice and those she worked with. Judy loved playing golf, bridge, reading, morning walks, and she especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's many sporting events and activities. Judy and Mike took joy in hosting family and friends at their beach house on Harstine Island and when vacationing on Kauai. Judy is survived by her husband Mike, children, Chuck (Stephanie) and Charlotte Van Hollebeke (Chris) and grandchildren, Ray, Sam, Cece, Ben and Maddie and stepson John (Cassidy) Canorro. A memorial service for Judy will be held at Wayside UCC in Federal Way, Friday, May 20th at 1:00pm. An online guestbook is available for those who wish to leave condolences and stories for the family at: www.klontzfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to JDRF One Walk under team Cece's Cruisers or Franciscan Hospice.
