Obituary of Dorothy Lou Belle Klontz

Dorothy “Lou” Belle Klontz, age 96, passed away peacefully in Algona, WA on December 14, 2017. Born in Sumner on November 19, 1921 to Edna Mae (McDonald) and Carl Barron, Lou graduated from Auburn High School and was a long time resident of Auburn. Preceded in death by her brother Joel Barron, sister, Marjorie Barron and husband Robert C. Klontz, Sr. to whom she was married for over 69 years. Lou was a military wife, co-owner of a successful sporting goods store in Auburn and enjoyed retirement in her 60s including regular travel to Green Valley, AZ. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, skier, golfer and knitter. Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Lou is survived by her 98 year old sister Patricia Gwin of Florida; son, Robert (Susan) Klontz Jr; daughters, Roberta Hughes and Patricia (Jay) Dworsky; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10:15 AM, January 22nd, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. All are welcome.
