Annette James

Obituary of Annette M James

We are sad to announce the death of Annette Mikiel James, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Annette passed away at the age of 89, on August 20th, 2022. She had been battling Parkinson's disease.

A pre-deceased family member of Annette was her late husband, and soulmate Eugene James. Annette is survived by her children, Joanne Beaver (spouse Dale), Martin Jenkins (spouse Beatrice), and Henry Jenkins. As well as her nine grandchildren and her great grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Annette is most remembered for her love of gardening, her love for animals, her adoration of the Seahawks, and her faithfulness in giving presents. She loved to garden in her greenhouse, where she planted many foods including kale, carrots, and peas. She was a very good cook who made meals from what she grew in her garden. She also had a love for animals where she fed the chipmunks on her patio and had named the really big one, “Bubba.” She also loved cats very much and collected all things cat decor; figurines, ornaments, pictures, and more. She had a favorite cat and with her wonderful sense of humor named him, “Trooper Squeaky U.S.M.C Extraordinaire, Hoorah!” Or “Trooper,” for short. She loved the Seattle Seahawks and proudly carried her Seahawks purse everywhere!  She was also very faithful in sending birthday cards and Christmas gifts every year. Some of her most memorable Christmas gifts that her grandchildren looked forward to were mini M&M’s and McDonalds Dollars. And her children remember how nice it was when she would put Rice Krispies Treats in their lunch boxes, and how it would make other kids jealous.

A Catholic Mass and memorial service for Annette will be held on Thursday, September 1st, 10am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Buckley WA.
