Although my great aunt, I always called her aunt Lola. My grandma Velma, Lola's sister, died at 62 from a massive stroke. I was so fond of my grandma Miller and was devastated when she passed away. Over the years, Lola's presence, near or far, always made me feel closer to both women because of Lola's loving, caring nature. At 101, she was the amazing matriarch of the Hughes family, and perhaps, the Robbins family. Her legacy is precious. Love your family with all your heart and soul!

Tim and family - I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for all of you. Somehow someway each day gets a little easier. The memories you have captured and shared are absolutely incredible. Revisit them often, in times of both happiness and sadness, and you will find comfort and joy. With love and sympathy, Tina

Mom, I love you! You will live forever in my memories! Your smiling face is a everlasting picture in my mind! I will be patient and wait to join you in Heaven. Just like you told me after Dad passed away. I want to stay awhile. I am to curious as to how everyone turns out to leave anytime soon! Love you, Your loving son - Timmy

About 8 or 9 years ago while grandma was a bit more mobile than she was in these last few years, I had the idea to "grandma-sit" and give my parents a chance to go out and see a matinee in the early-afternoon on a Sunday. As soon as they left the driveway, before I could say anything, Grandma turned to me and said "Well we better get going if we're gonna make it back before them." Man was I surprised and also curious at what she had in mind! I loaded her in the Buick and put her wheelchair in the trunk. And I was surprised indeed, when the place she directed me to drive her to was none other than Mountain View cemetery in Auburn, the very place where she was laid to rest by her children yesterday. She lived for her family, both those who followed her and those who preceded, which was why on that day nine years ago she only wanted to come by and say hello to them, and maybe watch the clouds drift over the mountain while she and I sat with them in the grass. I love you grandma - for all you taught me about the things that are most important in life.

We loved our Great Aunt Lola soooo much!!!! She was one if my Dad's most beloved people. She wasn't much older than him, but when she moved to Seattle from Oklahoma, she helped her Sister Velma and husband Wayne Miller raise their son David and daughter Virginia.
