Obituary of Darrell Frank Bosik

Darrell Frank Bosik was a man of steel with a heart of gold. His 33 years as a union iron worker and foreman involved him in erecting the majority of high-rise buildings in Seattle. His ability to lead his ironworkers with strong leadership, positive attitude, and passion was his hallmark. Darrell was born November 14, 1952 in Enumclaw, Washington, to Frank and Norma Bosik. He attended Kentridge High School where he met, Laura, his wife of 28 years. He graduated in 1972 and began his great career as an ironworker. Darrell and his family were long-time residents of South King County. Peacefully passing away at Auburn Regional Medical Center on September 7, 2006, Darrell has left so many friends and family members with wonderful, dear memories of his lust for life. Living life to the fullest, Darrell was incredibly fun-loving, loyal, caring, and hard-working. His passions were fishing and golfing, but spending time with family and friends was his favorite recreation. He truly lived his life on his terms and would have agreed that the measure of a person’s life is not the number of years lived, but the quality of those years. His daughters, Alicia and Christina, were his “proudest achievements” and his and Laura’s love of their daughters was widely recognized and honored by many. Darrell is survived by his wife, Laura; his daughters, Alicia and Christina; Alicia’s husband, Brett Thompson; Darrell’s sister, Cindy Davis; nephew, Erik Johnsen; niece, Trena Garrison; great nephew, Grant Garrison; step-father, John Kelly; step-brother, Artie Kelly; and step-sister, Sandra Stenson. A memorial service celebrating Darrell’s life will be held at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene, 1225 29th St. S.E., Auburn, WA 98002, (253) 833-5644 at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Darrell Bosik be given to the U.W. Medical Center for the fine care of their beloved husband and father or to the American Heart Association.
