Obituary of Eugene L. Hagerty

E. L. “Gene” Hagerty of Auburn passed away peacefully at home on November 2nd. Gene was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII and while stationed in New York City met the love of his life of 66 years, Grace Muligano. Gene had an uncanny ability to fix things mechanical. This launched into passion for automobiles, which he started as a mechanic in Great Falls. Chrysler Corporation recognized his talents and in 1957 hired him as a Service District Manager. In 1960 he became the Sales District Manager for the Seattle Area and in 1964 purchased Brewer Chrysler of Auburn which is still owned and operated by the family. He is survived by his wife, Grace, daughter Amber Hagerty-Cook, son Keith (Sherry) Hagerty, Grandchildren Dana Cook, Steven Cook, Gina Hagerty & Mitchell Hagerty. Memorial services will be held on November 9th at 12:00 PM at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Heart Association or Multiple Sclerosis Society, Seattle Chapters.
