Obituary of Lorenzina Maria Torelli

Lorenzina Maria Torelli June 19, 1919 – August 11, 2008 Lorenzina known to many as “Marie” was called into God’s Loving Kingdom on August 11, 2008, with family at her side. Marie was born in Castrezzato, Italy on June 19, 1919. At the age of twenty-nine she immigrated to America, leaving her family behind. Six months after arriving in Seattle, she met her future husband, Patrick and three months later they married. They made their home in Rainer Valley where they raised their three children. Marie worked for the Seattle School District for over fifteen years; she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed serving lunch to numerous elementary children. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering at her church, playing the slot machines and traveling to Reno and to the coast. She especially enjoyed trips back to Italy to visit with family. Marie resided for the past 7 years at Mill Ridge Village in Milton WA where she made many new friends. Marie was preceded in death by Patrick, her husband of 57 years. She is survived by her children, Carlo (Debra), Peter, and Patty (Frank) Krawczyk. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Louie, Joe, Tony, Danny, Jeffrey and Kristina, with whom she found an abundance of happiness. Also, survived by her sister-in-law Madeline and many nieces and nephews. She was an independent, kind and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother and will be dearly missed. A Rosary will be held at Mill Ridge Village, in Milton, on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Monday, August 18, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church in Fife, with a reception following. Committal service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 10:15 a.m.
