Obituary of Louis William Hamilton

Louis William HAMILTON August 10, 1933 ~ August 10, 2007 Blessed are those whose lives have been touched by the magic of Louie Hamilton. Louie was born August 10, 1933 in West Seattle and has passed away on August 10, 2007 in Puyallup, where he has lived for the past year. He was being cared for by the loving staff at Clare Bridge of Puyallup. The staff did an incredible job helping him through the struggles and stages of Alzheimer's disease. He will be greatly missed by anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing him. His sense of humor, honesty, gentle manner and respect for others are qualities that made him who he was. Those qualities remained a major part of his personality until the end. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert & Dorothy (Lynch), his brother, Robert, his sister, Elizabeth (Kelly) and his twin sister, Louise (Neale). The "Hamilton" family is now re-united. He lost his loving "bride", Shirley (Coonrod) of 51 years of marriage to cancer on February 16, 2006. Together they enjoyed a lifetime of happiness, family and friendships. They were wonderful parents & grandparents and shared their lives with so many people that felt honored to call them relatives or friends. Louie and Sherry are now free of disease and pain and can continue their everlasting love. Louie is survived by his children: Jerry (Jill), Dan (Bev), Ron, Patti Hume (Steve), 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, extended family, nieces & nephews and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, (18600 S.E. 240th St. Kent, WA 98042). The Service will be immediately followed by a Celebration of his Life at Covington City Hall, (16720 S.E. 271st St. Covington, WA 98042). Alzheimer's is frightening and greatly affects the families of those who have the disease. It is painful to watch your loved one as the disease progresses. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in memory of Louis Hamilton, be made to the Alzheimer's Association. This, in the hopes that someday there can be a cure to prevent loved ones and their families from suffering from the disease.
