Obituary of James A. Enden MD

James A Enden MD 10/24/1937-11/21/2010 Sadly we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather. Jim was the only child of Arnold and Radah Enden of Olympia, Washington. The cause of death was severe pneumonia. Being an only child, Jim deeply cherished his boyhood friendships in Olympia, and his high school buddies from Aberdeen, especially Larry, Jerry and Tom. Recently Jim attended reunions in both Olympia and Aberdeen, Class of 1955. These friendships were a source of pride and a foundation for his whole life. Jim will be remembered for his concert level mastery of the violin. He studied in Seattle with Vilum Sokol. Jim began pursuing his medical career at age 16, as an orderly at Aberdeen Hospital. He completed his MD degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1962. Jim was a board certified OB-GYN in private practice in Tualatin, Oregon for many years. He was married to his dear friend Carol Primrose Enden on October 24, 1992, and continued his medical practice at Madigan Army Medical Center until retirement in1998. Dr. Enden completed 36 years in the practice of medicine. Through the years Jim loved to attend the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall, and U of W football at Husky Stadium. Jim and Carol enjoyed a fun and rewarding motor home lifestyle, traveling as far as Nova Scotia and Labrador with many friends, for 10 years. The focus of Jim’s life was his love and devotion to his family. Jim leaves behind his devoted wife Carol Primrose Enden, daughters Ginger Burke (Chris) and Tami Pelo (Jeff), their mother Diana Enden, and grandchildren Jensen, Maty, Kensy Pelo, and Mitchell and Rowan Burke from the Portland area. His step children are Marjorie Weide and Scott Weide (Casey), and grandchildren Andrew and Zoe of Auburn Washington. Memorial service: December 11, 2010. 1pm.
