Camp Churchill was something I will never forget and tell people about to this day and wish my kids could experience. Back then it seemed to last forever those days with grandma and grandpa. All the "surprise parties" and the crafts and the special trips (my one and only trip to Canada). The "dorm," the ghost stories, the people we met, and like Lisa said the creativity we were always encouraged to explore with plays, songs and artwork. I will NEVER hear a song from Ropin' the Wind (Lonesome Dove in particular) and not think of grandma. Learning to drive on Camano Island for what felt like a whole summer. Clam digging at the beach. Grandma knew a million people and had a million friends because of her warmth and ability to make anyone feel special. She touched so many lives and will be missed.

Some of my greatest childhood memories were spent at “Camp Churchill” with Grandma Nora and Grandpa Lee. Every summer she enthusiastically brought together as many grandchildren as she could and took us on adventures, encouraged us to explore our creativity, and made sure they were weeks we wouldn’t forget. She was a very special lady who shared a wonderful light with the world. She will be missed.
