We were sad to hear of Fred's passing. He was such a positive, friendly guy. We enjoyed Fred and Edna's stops by our place even after they had sold in Paradise Bay. Fred will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with Edna and the family.

I stayed with "Uncle Red & Edna" on my way to my first duty station in the Coast Guard up in Seattle. I visited them a few times while I was up there for the 2.5 years I was there. I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to visit and be a part of the wonderful life they shared together. "Uncle Red" always had such great stories to tell and inspiration for me when I was still new to the service. Often, he could relate in some way, recalling similar occassions from his service time. I send my deepest sympathy to Edna and the rest of the family. "Uncle Red" was truly a remarkable man, who shall be remebered dearly. With love, Jason Oakes

I was so saddened to read of Red's passing. He and Allen were such good friends and we had many wonderful times together. I know he will be missed by all of you forever. The pain will ease as time goes by, but you will keep the memories, as I do. We have been separated by distance for so many years.

Family and Friends of Red, You are very lucky as we are to have had him in our lives. Even though we had long distances between us and few visits, those visits will always be great memories. We're thankful for those welcoming stayover beds on quick trips. Of course we'll miss his thoughtful conversation, laughter and wisdom. Our thoughts are with all of you- Especially Edna. Ginger and Carl

George and I share with Fred's many Texas cousins memories of his and Edna's visits, his enthusiasm for our genealogy, and his great sense of family. Our hearts go out to Edna, her children, and to 'Babe' whom I remember very well.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am so glad we found each other on the internet and I got to correspond with Cousin Fred about our common ancestry. I appreciate his generosity in the sharing of our family history and I learned a lot from him. He was a wealth of knowledge and will be truly missed.

I knew Fred for the five years after I started here at Seattle Center before he retired and I talked with him on occasion around town and at the center when he worked for contractors after his retirement. He was a good man and will be missed. My sincere condolences to the family.

My deepest sympathy to Edna and Fred's children and family. I really enjoyed the 15 or so years I worked with Fred and got to know him. He would share some stories, but was usually intersted in what was going on in my life and with my family. I enjoyed how he liked to appear "gruff", but I saw under that and I think he knew it. What a nice man he was. He will be missed.
