Obituary of Charles H. Cook

Charles H. Cook, of Auburn, passed way on July 18, 2005 at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle. He was 55. Born March 8, 1950 in Seattle, he attended Auburn Schools, Auburn High School class of l968, attended Eastern Washington University on a football scholarship and graduated in l975 with his degree in education. He received his Masters in Education Administration from the University of Puget Sound in l982. Charles began his teaching career at Montesano School District, where he also coached football and was inducted in the Montesano Hall of Fame in 2003. He moved to Auburn School District in l987. His years in Auburn included teaching at Washington Elementary, teaching and Vice Principal at Rainier Middle School and teaching at Auburn High School. He loved his career in education and the years he coached football held very special memories for him. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and watching AHS Basketball games; always ready to give coaching advice to his favorite players. Charles is sorely missed and will be remembered for his tenacious strength and will, his ever present positive attitude and his kind and thoughtful friendship. Proceeded in death by his father, Odis C. Cook in l977 and his step-father Francis Fennell in l997 and his grandparents. Survivors: Wife Amber (Hagerty) Cook, Auburn, WA Daughter Dana and son Steven. Mother: Elizabeth Fennell, Auburn, WA Brother: Steve Cook, Issaquah, WA Sister: Cathy Lagasa (Larry) Federal Way, WA Sister: Dianne Shapard (Tony Kirliuk) Normandy Park, WA Sister: Theresa Cook, Auburn, WA Aunt : Mary Lou Sanderson and nieces and nephews and many cousins. Memorial Service will be held on Monday July 25, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Messiah Lutheran Church, Auburn. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Charles’s name to MS Hub, Research for a cure, 1100 Olive Way, Suite 150, Seattle, WA 98101
