Obituary of Joy Evelyn Bearman

Joy Evelyn Bearman of Auburn died July 25, 2006, in Gearhart, Oregon. She was 63. Born May 30, l943 in Anchorage, Alaska she married Tom Bearman November 27, l964, and lived in Auburn since l965. Mrs. Bearman had worked as a hairdresser and an aide in the Auburn School District from l984 to l994. She directed theatrical productions at Washington and Terminal Park Elementary Schools. She was a director for INTRAX, arranging host families and programs for students from Japan every summer for seven years. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held numerous positions in the church. She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, special dolls and teaching music to children. In addition to her husband, survivors include her sons, Charles Bearman of Mesa, Ariz., and Michael Bearman of Silver Springs, Md.; daughters, Joanne Jeffs of Orem, Utah, Debbie Greco of Mesa, Ariz., and Becky Payne of Pocatello, Idaho; and sisters, Nina Tanner of Logan, Utah, Dawn Tanner-Pendlebury of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Lizette Hoffenreich of Kooskia, Idaho, Judy Gibson, Rada Renshaw and Marion Tanner, all of Juneau, Alaska. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Auburn Stake Center with a funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
