Dear cousins, your mom was so special. If there are angels among us on earth, she truly was one - and I'm sure her smiling, gentle spirit will be with you always. Special doesn't seem adequate to describe her joyous approach to life, friends and especially, family. The last time I saw her, she brought out photos & said, "Now Judy, it's important to know who your family is." and proceeded to tell about each person & event pictured. I'm grateful for the times & memories of her, her soft voice & bubbly laugh. My heart goes out to each of you for the past year you have had, and now for this. She will be so missed. I feel she wouldn't want us to be sad, but smiling, to remember her & Ray. Always know that you have more family, though far in miles, who loved her & love you, too. Love to you, little Auntie Marilyn. Judy

What a sweet, dear Aunt! I have many fond memories of Aunt Marilyn. The precious way her eyes would sparkle with enthusiasm and how excited she'd get over famiy news, no matter how big or how small. She loved family more than anything. Roger, Justin (my stepson) and I had the pleasure of visiting both Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Ray a few years ago before embarking on our cruise to Alaska. They showed us around Issaquah and back at their house, Uncle Ray taught Justin how to play chess. Justin still remembers how to play! When Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Ray visited Iowa several years ago, I was home visiting and Aunt Marilyn engineered having a full scale birthday party for my mom (her sister, Dorothy). It was fun. I remember one visit when all 3 sisters were at my mom's house. Marilyn, Betty & my mom would giggle and you could almost imagine them as little girls having some laughs and secrets together. Aunt Marilyn loved to talk and go through family photos. We still chuckle at how she'd get up close to you, inches from your face and talk to you about serious things, or to whisper a silly story. She is truly missed, but will always have a special place in our hearts. Our condolences to her children, our sweet cousins. With love, Linda & Roger (Dan & Justin)

Marilyn was such a wonderful person to be around. Calling her "mom" seemed to be more natural than calling her Marilyn. She'll always be mom to me. She was in my life for more than 13 years. She was always so full of love and laughter. She enjoyed visits and going on small trips with Donna and me. I will miss those trips as much as I miss her. Love you Marilyn. Wish you could have stayed longer...Sue

Dearest Marilyn (Mom), I am so glad we were friends, you are my best friend forever. Your smile was the greatest thing to see. You always made sad days happier and little things funnier. I always enjoyed when you came over to the house....we would talk and have so much fun together. You made me feel welcome in your family. I will miss you. You and Ray are now together and you can sit back and laugh at us down here. Love you Marilyn with all my heart & soul, my best little friend. We never say goodbye, we say see you later. George

Dear Mom, I'm sad you've left us but I'm so glad you & Julie had this last year together. You were the most selfless person I've ever known & I will try to honor you by being more that way myself. If I can do half as well as you, I'll be happy. I'll miss you, I know we'll all miss you always. Thanks so much for being our Mom. Now go find Dad... Love you forever, David

To my mom, You were the best mom - I will always have fond memories of how you were there for me, always. I carry a special place in my heart for you. Our "cake day" this year is one of the funnest times for me to remember - thank you for teaching me the art of cooking. I have passed it on to my kids and they are passing it on too! You are with me forever momma. I love you and miss you. Your son, Larry
